Location

The San Martino Valley is situated between "That branch of Lake Como that turns south, right where it becomes a river again" ("The Betrothed," A. Manzoni) and the famous 9-point crest of Mt. Resegone, but detached from the Mt. Albenza watershed (that includes Mt. Pertus and Mt. Valcava) which separates it from the Imagna Valley.  The Hotel, easily reached from the cities and airports in Lombardy (especially from Bergamo's Orio al Serio Airport and Milan's Linate Airport) as well as from the Calolziocorte rail station, offers ideal holidays for those wanting to discover or revisit famous sites known worldwide:

- Lake Como:  Como, the city of the silk industry;  Lecco, Manzoni's city (Bellaggio, Varenna, Cernobbio . . .), the neighboring Canton Ticino in Switzerland, Chiasso and Lugano, a point of departure for taking picturesque cruises;

- The places and landscapes described by Manzoni in his novel The Betrothed:  from the castles inhabited by the Unnamed and Don Rodrigo to the shores of the river Adda, famous for Lucia's "Goodbye to the mountains, sources of water . . . ." ;

- The stretch of the river Adda traveled by Leonardo Da Vinci on the ferryboat from Imbersago and the park ;

- Cities of art, such as Bergamo and Milan, only 35 and 50 kilometers away .
